SUMMARY:CSU Theatre is lighting the UCA red in support of the live performa
 nce industry
DESCRIPTION:On Tuesday night\, Sept. 1\, CSU Theatre will light the UCA red
 \, joining performing arts organizations across the country in support of 
 a nationwide call to action that urges Congress to pass the RESTART Act (S
 . 3814/H.R. 7481) and the Save Our Stages Act (S. 4258/H.R. 7806).\n\nLive
  events have been completely halted due to the COVID-19 pandemic.The live 
 event industry in North America employs more than 12 million people and in
 cludes hundreds of thousands of businesses with a combined economic impact
  of more than $1 trillion USD. Without government assistance\, the live ev
 ents industry faces collapse. Most likely you have friends or family who h
 ave already been impacted.\n\nWe'll be sharing photos and video during the
  evening. As we lend our support to our colleagues in the performing arts\
 , join us by sharing pictures of the UCA bathed in red light to your own s
 ocial media using the hashtags #WeMakeEvents\, #RedAlertRESTART\, and #Ext
 endPUA.\n\nA letter from our production manager\, Steven Workman:\n\nHello
  Everyone\,\n\nIf you are like me then these last couple of weeks have see
 med overwhelming\; the normal start to the school year is stressful enough
  and the added pressure of a pandemic...can make things seem impossible. I
  have found myself needing to take a step back\, focus\, and find some per
 spective.\n\nI would like to invite you all to join us in just such a mome
 nt. This Tuesday\, Sept. 1\, the UCA will be taking part in #RedAlertRESTA
 RT hosted by #WeMakeEvents. For this event\, we will be lighting up the fr
 ont entrance of the UCA from 8-10 p.m. in support of the millions of frien
 ds\, colleagues\, and performing artists who have been out of work for mon
 ths now with no clear sign of when that might change. This event is in lin
 e with others that are happening around the world to draw attention to the
  desperate need for help and support for the arts.\n\nI am incredibly grat
 eful to have this amazing building that we are all still able to come toge
 ther in and practice and teach the art that we love. I hope you can join
