Dan Minzer has the pleasure of working as the Staff Master Electrician for the CSU school of Music, Theatre and Dance. As a CSU theatre alum with a focus in lighting design, Dan has worked across the country as a lighting technician, production electrician, and lighting designer.
After graduation, Dan moved to New York City where he worked with Bill T Jones Dance company, Robert Wilson, and the Alexander Kasser Theater at Montclair State University. During this time he also traveled to Hawaii to work as the lead lighting tech aboard Norwegian Cruise Line's Pride of America vessel.
Dan left New York in 2014 to move to Portland, OR. There, he worked as a freelance designer for several theatre companies including Defunkt Theatre and Action/Adventure Theatre. In late 2014 he joined Hollywood Lights Inc. as a lead event production designer and technician. It was here that Dan had the opportunity to work on large scale projects including the Portland Rose Festival, the Portland Waterfront Blues Festival, The Bi-Mart Willamette Country Music Festival, and the 2016 IAAF World Indoor Championship.
Dan moved back to Fort Collins, CO in Fall of 2016. He has reconnected with his alma mater and been working for the School of Music, Theatre, and Dance as Master Electrician and Staff Lighting Supervisor.
In addition, he continues to work as a freelance lighting designer for several local dance companies. He also serves as the Assistant Production Manager for the Live Design International (LDI), the LDI Conference – LDInstitute and Live Design Broadway Training and Masters Classes (Lighting, Concert Sound and Projection Design).
