Directed by Eric Prince.
A hit in London and New York and one of the funniest and most inventive plays by Britain’s grand master of comedy, the Olivier & Moliere award-winning writer Sir Alan Ayckbourn, whose 72 plays have achieved astonishing audience success throughout the world. Comic Potential is a seriously funny love story, a romantic sci-fi lesson in comedy, set in a not too distant future when actors are replaced by robots, or rather ‘actoids’, and an aspiring young comedy screenwriter falls in love with one of them. The play has been immensely popular and will be staged by CSU in exactly the same way that Ayckbourn stages and directs it himself, in the wonderfully intimate style of ‘theatre in the round’.
Ticket Thursdays: FREE for CSU students on Jan. 31, and Feb. 7. Space is limited and available on a first come, first served basis. Contact the Ticket Office at (970) 491-ARTS (2787).
Not appropriate for youth: contains adult language and situations.

“Comic Potential is one of the finest plays of all my theater going decades. It is a riotous farce, a tremulously exquisite love story, a superb satire on television and other human follies, and an irresistible evening in the theater. If you are going to see only one play in your life, make it this one.” (Theatre Critic – John Simon)
