Young Producers Organization

The Young Producers Organization believes in advocating professional growth in the performing arts at Colorado State University by creating unique opportunities for student artistic expression.

Inhale opportunity, exhale creativity.

The Young Producers Organization is a fully student-run theatre and performing arts organization that is passionate about providing resources for students of all theatrical experience levels to try something new. YPO is an outlet for students who want to learn and grow from their experiences as a first time director, designer, stage manager, or actor.

We open proposal ideas for the following school year each Spring for students to bring forth their own original work or a project they want to see come alive. YPO is the perfect place for new playwrights, directors, comedians, dancers, artists of all kinds, bring their art alive. Whether you are an actor who wants to take a shot at lighting design, or a scenic designer who wants to try stage management, YPO is a great stepping stone for students to explore all different theatrical elements where they might elsewhere be turned away due to lack of previous experience.

We produce 2-4 events per school year and each realised production has a budget of $120. With the help of ASCSU and audience donations, the Young Producers Organization has been producing plays, comedy nights, open mic nights, improv workshops, and more for six years. All productions are always free and open to the public!

Weekly meetings are held on Wednesdays, 5 p.m., Room 240 at the University Center for the Arts located at 1400 Remington St.
