Lysistrata by Aristophanes, adaptation by Ellen McLaughlin

Directed by Debbie Swann

Nov. 5, 6, 11, 12, 13 at 7:30 p.m., with matinees on Sunday, Nov. 7, 14 at 2 p.m.; LIVESTREAM TBD

“Make love, not war,” is the rally cry of the women of Athens and Sparta, who go on a sex strike to try and stop their men from continuing to fight a protracted and costly war. A classic Aristophanic satire, Lysistrata is about the disenfranchised using whatever means necessary to change their world, and about comedy’s potential for social change though humor and laughter.
