On Tuesday night, Sept. 1, CSU Theatre will light the UCA red, joining performing arts organizations across the country in support of a nationwide call to action that urges Congress to pass the RESTART Act (S. 3814/H.R. 7481) and the Save Our Stages Act (S. 4258/H.R. 7806).
Live events have been completely halted due to the COVID-19 pandemic.The live event industry in North America employs more than 12 million people and includes hundreds of thousands of businesses with a combined economic impact of more than $1 trillion USD. Without government assistance, the live events industry faces collapse. Most likely you have friends or family who have already been impacted.
We’ll be sharing photos and video during the evening. As we lend our support to our colleagues in the performing arts, join us by sharing pictures of the UCA bathed in red light to your own social media using the hashtags #WeMakeEvents, #RedAlertRESTART, and #ExtendPUA.

Hello Everyone,
If you are like me then these last couple of weeks have seemed overwhelming; the normal start to the school year is stressful enough and the added pressure of a pandemic…can make things seem impossible. I have found myself needing to take a step back, focus, and find some perspective.
I would like to invite you all to join us in just such a moment. This Tuesday, Sept. 1, the UCA will be taking part in #RedAlertRESTART hosted by #WeMakeEvents. For this event, we will be lighting up the front entrance of the UCA from 8-10 p.m. in support of the millions of friends, colleagues, and performing artists who have been out of work for months now with no clear sign of when that might change. This event is in line with others that are happening around the world to draw attention to the desperate need for help and support for the arts.
I am incredibly grateful to have this amazing building that we are all still able to come together in and practice and teach the art that we love. I hope you can join us!
