CSU Theatre Open Audition Call

Colorado State University’s Theatre Program is seeking children to audition for the children’s roles in CSU’s holiday production A CHRISTMAS STORY by Philip Grecian (a stage adaptation based on the motion picture.)

AUDITION INFORMATION:

TIME: 1:00-2:30 – All Children currently in the 3rd & 4th Grades

2:30-4:00 – All Children currently in the 5th & 6th Grades

PLACE: University Center for the Arts (UCA), 1400 Remington St., Rooms 238, 240, 242

NOTE: All children auditioning Sat, Sept 22 must be accompanied by an adult who should be available for the full 90-minute session.

There is NO COST to you nor will you be asked to provide your child’s costume!

 

Each child auditioning will be asked to read his/her choice of pre-selected poems by Shel Silverstein.

Memorization is optional, but practice reading aloud in advance is suggested.

TENTATIVE SCHEDULE:

IMPORTANT!  All children’s roles will be double-cast to help alleviate the time commitment required.

For example, we will alternate the two casts for all evening rehearsals, so your child would only be required to attend every other night. Additionally, performance weekend will also rotate as follows:

Red Cast                    November 15 thru 18

Green Cast                November 23 thru 25

Red Cast                    November 29 thru December 2

Green Cast                December 6 thru 9

Red Cast                    December 13 and 15

Green Cast                December 14 and 16

However, the members of BOTH casts will be required to attend ALL the Tuesday/Thursday after-school workshops. See below for dates and times.

 

After-School Acting Workshops:

Sept 25-October 25, Tuesdays and Thursdays

4:00 p.m. – 5:15 p.m.

 

Evening Rehearsals:

Beginning Monday, October 29, Mondays thru Fridays

6:30 p.m. – 8:15 p.m.

No rehearsal on Halloween

 

Performances:

Beginning Thursday, November 15 through Sunday, December 16, running Thursday/Friday/Saturday/Sunday

Nightly at 7:30 p.m. and Sundays at 2:00 p.m.

No show on Thanksgiving Day
