Written by the founding director of Chicago-based The Hypocrites, Sean Graney, These Seven Sicknesses works through Sophocles’ seven surviving plays as they explore the human condition. We will tackle three plays in this witty and relevant interpretation of the classics — Oedipus, Elektra, and Antigone — that speak truth to power, and comment with timely relevance on our contemporary lives in the shadow of a pandemic.

Thank you for a delightful evening of theatre! Such inventive uses of multiple spaces and the best Chorus choreography and orchestration ever! An excellent opportunity for actors to stretch physically, vocally and emotionally, and designers to flex their creative muscle. I’m sure many of them surprised themselves. Last, but not least, kudos for choosing a piece with strong roles for women and men! YAY. — Dr. Laura Jones, Emeritus Professor of Theatre
