Mentor Program

Our Purpose

To give encouragement and agency to first year/transfer students to find the resources they need in their first year in the CSU theatre department.

Get Involved

Each year, we interview and provide training for current students who would like to be mentors to incoming students. A training session is held during the summer where school resources are explained and mentors learn about additional resources available to students in the CSU community.

Interviews take place the last week of classes in May with training the second or third week in Aug. Each mentor is assigned 2-5 mentees depending on incoming class sizes.

Throughout the year, mentors organize mentor/mentee events, and ensure that their mentees know about items pertaining to CSU theatre (auditions, classroom notices, events, opening nights etc.) Mentors also serve as ambassadors for CSU Theatre, and are often asked to attend events like the Colorado Thespian Conference, while also being tasked as leaders in the department.
