The CSU Career Center supports and equips CSU students and alumni to discover and pursue their goals. Students may nominate faculty and staff for Career Impact Awards to recognize that this work is not done in isolation. The Career Center highlights individuals or teams positively impacting CSU students’ career journeys each month.
CSU Theatre staff Matt Grevan and Elise Kulovany have been recognized in 2024!
Matt Grevan is the production stage manager at the School of Music, Theatre, and Dance. He also teaches a theatre practicum and a series of stage management courses.
Matt goes above and beyond for his students at CSU. He ensures that we get hands-on experience during our time at CSU to enhance our resumes and portfolios. He has spent hours helping me with my job search, sending me job listings, reviewing my resumes, portfolios, cover letters, arranging mock interviews, etc. He helps us make connections in the theatre world. He has assisted in preparing me for conferences that will help me network and make further connections in the industry. He holds mentor evaluations alongside student self-evaluations every semester to help students analyze areas of strengths and growth and assists in making tangible goals to better our education. His teaching style is personalized; I know he is always there when I need help. – Dani Ransiate, B.A. in Theatre, Set Design, 2024
Elise Kulovany is the School of Music, Theatre, and Dance costume shop manager.
Elise is amazing and truly cares about student success. She started and led the mentor program for the theatre department, helping to pair upper-level students with freshmen to encourage first-year success. She helps organize USITT every year for students to attend and consistently reaches out to alumni to ensure the department knows what the alums are up to around the world and updates everyone. Elise is active in the community and encourages participation where able. She may work in the costume shop, but she has students of all majors come to her for advice, guidance, recommendations, etc. Elise is all around a great person to have on campus for the work she does in trying to [encourage] students to grow. – CSU Theatre alum
